Three minutes at 37°F. Every morning. Same plunge, same temperature, every time.
The Penguin Cold Therapy Chiller is the heart of a serious home cold plunge setup. 7,500 BTU/hr of cooling pulls room-temperature water down to a true 37°F and holds it there — your morning plunge is the same depth, the same shock, the same effect, every single day. Built-in circulation pump, quick-connect fittings, titanium coil. Plug it into a household outlet and it runs.
The chiller is the part of a cold plunge setup that makes or breaks the experience. Underpowered units stall around 50°F. DIY chest-freezer rigs are sketchy on electrical and impossible on temperature control. The Penguin is what you choose when you want the cold to be reliable enough to build a daily practice around — and the kind of build quality that holds up to it.

Who this is for
- Adults building a daily cold plunge practice for recovery, focus, and inflammation control.
- Athletes and lifters who already cold-plunge at a studio and want the at-home version of the ritual.
- Wellness-focused households outfitting a recovery room with cold, hot, light, and breathwork.
- DIY-minded buyers who already have a tub, barrel, or stock tank and just need the chiller.
- Anyone whose harder-living years are catching up and who'd rather not negotiate their next twenty-five for them.
Who it's not for
- Buyers who want a single turn-key kit with chiller and tub matched — see the Beyond Cold turnkey tubs (Journey, Pursuit and Summit).
- Cedar-barrel plunge setups specifically — see the Barrel Chiller Cold Therapy Package for a barrel-fit unit.
- Indoor setups in spaces that can't be moisture-controlled (the chiller exhausts heat into the room).
- Outdoor installs in climates that drop below 32°F year-round without enclosure.
What you get
- A 7,500 BTU/hr cooling capacity that holds 37°F regardless of ambient — the same morning plunge in summer and winter.
- Titanium coil construction — corrosion-resistant, reef-safe, built to handle salt, chlorine, ozone, or fresh water.
- Built-in circulation pump and quick-connect fittings — no separate pump to source, no soldering, no PVC cuts.
- An inline 150-micron screen filter to keep debris out of the system.
- Standard 110–120V 15-amp operation — plug into any household outlet, no electrician needed.
- Outdoor-rated chassis for installs in covered patios, garages, and three-season rooms.
- Operating cost around $18/month at $0.12/kWh — meaningful, but a fraction of a single studio session.
- Designed and manufactured in Knoxville, Tennessee — fully serviced and warrantied in the US.

How it compares
The Cold Therapy Chiller is our pick for buyers who want the best cooling system and already have (or will source) their own tub. Here's how to think about it:
vs. a turnkey tub — The beyond cold turnkey tubs (journey, pursuit and summit) arrive as one purchase with the chiller matched to the tub — easier to buy, no compatibility guesswork. Choose the standalone chiller if you have a custom tub, a stock tank you love, or a cedar barrel already in place; choose the combo if you want one purchase, one delivery, one setup.
vs. premium consumer brands (Plunge, Morozko, Sun Home) — Brands like Plunge and Morozko Forge sell turn-key cold plunges at $5,000–$15,000. They're polished and convenient. The Penguin chiller plus a $300–$800 stock tank or barrel gets you the same daily plunge experience for a quarter of the price — and the chiller itself is industrial-grade rather than consumer-grade.
vs. DIY chest-freezer setups — A modded chest freezer can cool water, but you're managing electrical hazards (freezer + water), no temperature regulation, fast bacterial growth without filtration, and a warranty that voids the moment you cut into it. The Penguin is purpose-built for the same job, with safety and serviceability designed in.
vs. cold plunge studios — A typical cold plunge studio session runs $40–$70. At five sessions a week, the Penguin Cold Therapy Chiller pays itself back in roughly 18–24 months — and you reclaim the drive time, the scheduling, and the waiting list. Most home users do more sessions per week simply because it's there.
Your protection & logistics
Warranty
One-year limited manufacturer warranty from Penguin Chillers, made in Knoxville, Tennessee. Extended 2-year and 3-year warranties available at point of sale (priced per model — your Wellness Concierge quotes the exact figure with your order). Penguin administers all claims; we coordinate and resolve on your behalf.
Shipping & lead time
Free shipping to the 48 contiguous states via UPS, covered by Penguin. East-coast addresses typically arrive in 1–3 business days; west-coast in approximately 5 business days. Tracking is sent the moment your order ships. Alaska / Hawaii shipping is quoted separately by your Wellness Concierge.
Installation
Self-install — every Penguin chiller ships with kit-specific step-by-step setup guides and the owner's manual. Customers using Penguin's pre-approved standard kit configurations do not need to submit setup photos. For custom installations (e.g., integrating a chiller into a non-standard tub or build), photos and system details are submitted to Penguin's tech team before use to validate warranty coverage — your Wellness Concierge handles that submission for you.
Returns
Standard stock chillers are eligible for return within 21 days, subject to pre-approval and a 20% restocking fee; return shipping is the customer's responsibility, direct to Penguin in Tennessee. Custom-ordered units are non-returnable. Cancellations within lead time are subject to a 3% fee. We work with you upfront to confirm the right HP, coil, and configuration so a return is rarely needed.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I put this — indoor or outdoor?
Both. The chiller is rainproof and rated for outdoor use above freezing (32°F). Most clients install on a covered porch, in a garage, or in a basement wellness room. Indoor installs are easiest because the chiller pulls heat off the water and exhausts it — outdoor installs handle that for free.
Does it come with a tub?
No — the standalone Cold Therapy Chiller is the chilling system only, designed for buyers who already have a tub, barrel, stock tank, or custom basin. If you want everything matched and ready, see the Beyond Cold turnkey tubs (Journey, Pursuit and Summit) or our Barrel Chiller Cold Therapy Package (built for cedar barrels).
Do I need an electrician?
No. The chiller runs on a standard 110–120V 15-amp household outlet — same as a refrigerator. No special wiring, no permits, no panel upgrades. Most setups are running on a single extension cord within an hour of unboxing.
How cold does it actually get, and how fast?
Down to 37°F (about 3°C). From room-temperature tap water, you're at full plunge temp within 8–14 hours depending on tub volume. Once you're at temperature, the chiller cycles to hold it — your morning plunge is the same every day.
How do I keep the water clean?
Three things: the included filter, a chlorinating kit (we sell one for $39.99) or ozone, and a simple weekly rinse routine. At 37°F, bacteria growth is dramatically slowed — water lasts 4–8 weeks between full changes for most home users. We can talk you through the routine when you order.
How loud is it?
About 56 dBA — comparable to a quiet dishwasher or a window AC unit on low. You can install it next to a bedroom wall and it won't wake anyone up; most clients run their plunge first thing in the morning while the household is still asleep.
What's the warranty?
1-year manufacturer warranty included on every chiller, with 2-year and 3-year extended options available at checkout. Penguin Chillers administers all warranty service directly from their Knoxville, TN facility. We act as your single point of contact through InfraCore's concierge line.
How long does delivery take?
Penguin builds to order in Knoxville and ships UPS, typically within 2–7 business days. Free freight shipping to the continental US — Alaska, Hawaii, and international, contact us for a quote.
From the founder
I built InfraCore because I needed it.
Two devastating knee injuries and multiple ankle injuries before I left high school gave me twenty-five years of compounding consequences — chronic pain, multiple surgeries, mobility I was working hard to keep. Cold therapy is one of the most consistent inflammation tools in the entire recovery stack, and Penguin's chillers are what I'd buy when it's time to put cold plunge in the corner of the wellness room.
If you've already got a tub or barrel — or you'd rather build the setup yourself — this is the chiller I'd put on a permanent shopping list. Reliable temperature, made in the US, and a price that makes the daily plunge realistic.
